History
The Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism was established in 1972 as the Institute of Biological Research and Human Reproduction under the supervision of the Deputy Minister of Health and Family Planning of the Ministry of Health. Then, under the supervision of the health network, the Institute with the name of Endocrinology and Metabolism has been working. Since 1989, after the dissolution of Tehran's medical districts, this unit was under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor for Education of Iran University of Medical Sciences. In 2010, with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the Endocrine Research Center was added to the Endocrine Institute as a research unit, and in 2014 it received final approval
Mission and goals
The activities of this center in the field of education include: training subspecialists in endocrinology, training of internal residents and medical students, and education of patients with chronic endocrine and metabolic diseases
In the field of research, this center designs and conducts research projects in the field of endocrine diseases and metabolism in the Endocrine Research Center (Endocrine Research Institute)
